"I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn't photograph them." ~ Diane Arbus

In her work we can see that she tells a story and she mostly deals with portraits. Her work show has attitude and it also shows how a person personality is. At least that is what I have observed. Some of her photos come to life due to the facial expressions that are on the people's faces. We see that she records some moments from the past that are slightly different from other photographers because we are seeing regular people in their normal lives. Some of her work is a bit dramatic due to the contrast between colors, and some of their facial expressions. In the photo above called "Blond Girl with Shiny Lipstick", 1967 we see that it is one of her dramatic photos because of the dark background and the mysterious expression. In the photo "The Woman in a Veil" we see that this is a person in their everyday life and it is more genuine and the woman seems to be friendly. The last photo that is called "The Simplicity of Thought" is a bit more staged but she took it in a way where it shows that the girl is well mannered but also playful. In this photograph Diane Arbus also has a series that goes with it.
